Thomas Price is always on the move—whether he's flying to Napa for the prestigious Rudd Round Table or sharing his passion for wine education at Auburn University. A Master Sommelier since 2012, Thomas has spent nearly four decades immersed in the vibrant, fast-paced restaurant industry, where he found his true calling. Today, he serves as the Master Sommelier in Residence at Auburn's renowned 1856—Culinary Residence, inspiring the next generation of hospitality professionals and guiding his students through the dynamic world of wine.
As chairman of SommFoundation and an ambassador for the Bourgogne Wine Board, Thomas brings an extraordinary wealth of knowledge to his students. His journey from bustling restaurants to the halls of academia reflects his deep commitment to nurturing talent and making the art of wine approachable. Thomas’s unique teaching style, whether he's breaking down the complexities of terroir or creatively pairing wine with unexpected snacks like Flamin' Hot Cheetos, ignites a passion for wine that’s contagious.
With a career rooted in the belief that wine is for everyone, Thomas strives to break down barriers and share his love for the craft with each person he meets. His goal is simple: to inspire others to explore and fall in love with wine, just as he did.
