When I close my eyes and think of Tuscany, a clear image comes to mind.  The scene is sprawled with high rolling hills, mature shrubs and cypress that reach to the sky. I see sun baked blue skies and rows of neat vineyards crossing through the landscape. It has a smell and it certainly has a flavor. The flavor is Sangiovese. Powerful and elegant, Sangiovese is often considered the finest red grape in all of Italy. It is certainly one variety that shows incredible sense of place as well as its compatibility for blending.

Enter the wines of Il Borro. Organic wines of strength and sophistication from a farm and estate, located between Florence and Siena. Chef Deneb and I are thrilled to share these beautiful wines paired with a 5 course prix fixe menu created to compliment their flavors and depth.  From an intriguing sparkling Sangiovese to a big, brooding Super-Tuscan blend, from scallop carpaccio to lamb chops with leek ash, the feelings of Tuscany will be with you this evening and beyond.
